Who is Warren Family Recovery (WFR)
Launched in 2019 as the Warren Recovery Group Inc (WRG) by then Vice-President of the National Neighborhood Initiative, Dr. Gerald Morgan (Ph.D), who envisioned building a new community centered behavioral health program built by the professionals of our community. Under the leadership of then President of The National Neighborhood Initiative, D’Andre Bowers, the newly formed Warren Family Recovery was formed, and formally incorporated in 2020.
Under the name of Warren Family Recovery, operating initially in Warren, Ohio as an outpatient behavioral health agency, Bowers became well achieved earning the title among the youngest known (21) to achieve a non-physician owned waiver to operate an Opioid Treatment Program and Behavioral Health Firm within Ohio.
By 2023, Warren Family Recovery had grown its reach to all of northeastern Ohio with clients stretching from Trumbull County, Ohio all the way to Cuyahoga County. After the death of co-founder, Dr. Morgan in 2022, Bowers launched Shaker Family Recovery in an effort to continue the vision of that Dr. Morgan had for this program.
In 2024, WRG and its subsidiaries (dba’s) Warren Family Recovery (WFR) and Shaker Family Recovery (SFR) had been Internationally Accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for all services offered. With the direction Bowers and founding Clinical Director, Dr. Deborah Watson (Ph.D, LPCC-S, LICDC-CS), the program had excelled to reach naming rights with established programs that have been around for decades.
As of 2025, WRG is an Ohio Mental Health & Addiction Services (OMHAS) certified, and CARF Accredited Behavioral Health Agency that is owned and operated by the National Neighborhood Initiative (NNI). The profits of WRG support the efforts of NNI.
